Is my plan enough for weight loss or no?
I’m 5’2" and 140 pounds. I wanna be around 110 – 117.
So here is my plan
For exercise, I’ll be doing two different activities:
1. This may sound silly, but my sibling and I like to pretend we’re performing on stage like a band or something, and we just sing along to songs, but I do alot of running, jumping and dancing. It;s usually about an hour to an hour and 20 mins we do that, and I don’t jump and stuff the whole time, I gotta catch my breath a little and all…….so it’s probably around 30 – 45 minutes of that…..(it’s fun so I’m more likely to do it and not get too bored or anything)
And then after dinner I’ll do my Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred DVD. I’ll do it as the DVD says (10 days level 1, 10 days level 2, etc etc) And in the evening when I don’t have much to do, I MAY dance a little, but I’m not counting that as a main part of my workout plan.
And an example of what I plan on eating:
Breakfast:
My breakfast will be either:
1. Frozen raspberries or some fruit or of some sort with two strips of vegetarian bacon wrapped around a little bit of lettuce with some mixed vegetables in the lettuce (sounds weird, but it’s good) and a glass of skim milk and some green tea
2. Fruit and a whole wheat bagel with a serving of peanut butter, and skim milk and green tea
Snack 1: Fruit or carrots
Lunch, also a few different things I eat:
1. A vegetable burger on a whole wheat bagel with lettuce and mustard and either a piece of fruit (probably an apple) or some vegetables with it
2. Vegetarian fajitas made with tofu, carrots, onion and bellpepper, whole wheat tortilla shells and low fat monzarella cheese
3. A vegetable stir-fry made with tofu, potatoes, and other sorts of vegetables and maybe some fruit with it
Snack 2: Vegetables, probably carrot
Dinner: Either a large salad with cooked tofu or a fruit salad
Snack 3: If I need one, it will be fruit
And on my weekly cheat day I will eat a Skinny Cow brand of diet ice cream, 120 calories per serving (it’s an ice cream bar so I don’t serve it myself)
Calorie count for some of these foods:
Vegetarian morning star brand of bacon – 60 calories per serving (one serving is two slices
Veggie Burgers, also morning star – 110 calories
Wheat Bagels – 110 calories
Wheat Tortillas – 120 calories
And my green tea doesn’t have any sugar in it.
I’m a vegetarian, and I don’t eat fish or eggs, or chick peas, or lentils or beans.
I’ll be drinking 3 liters of water a day, and eating about 1300 calories.
Does this sound good or should I add more exercise or something?
Yeah, I’m a girl. Real useless answer, butt-hole.
With those stats I hope you’re a girl

Fast diet for a vegetarian?
I have recently put on 35lbs and am really unhappy with myself. i workout everyday mixing cardio and weights but im still not losing weight, does anyone know of a diet/meal plan that is vegetarian and works fast for weight loss? i need a full meal plan of what to eat and whento eat it. i have the list of all the vegetarian diet options but i am obviously doing something wrong since i keep gaining and i have been working at this for 2months now!
It’s possible you’re not getting the maximum benefit from the exercise you’re doing. Are you measuring the level of your heart rate when you work out? You need to be reaching 80% of your max heart rate (220 minus your age) for a sustained period for your exercise to help you burn calories.
As for a meal plan, clearly, if you’re taking in too many calories, it almost doesn’t matter how much exercise you do because you won’t be creating a calorie deficit.
Here’s some info I hope will help:
Losing weight is a function of calories in and calories out. There’s very little mystery to it. It used to be thought that a pound of body weight (or 2.2kg) was equal to 3500 calories but recent research suggests that’s not a hard and fast rule. Consider it a rule of thumb. Do a web search and you’ll be able to determine your approximate basal metabolic rate (the number of calories you burn each day just by being alive and breathing). I’d guess that your BMR is probably in the 1500 calorie range. So, if you consume less than 1500 calories per day, over time, you’re likely to lose weight. However, if you were to starve yourself (equivalent to consuming anything less than about 600 calories/day), your metabolism is likely to slow down and the differential between calories consumed and calories burned is likely to narrow significantly.
You can increase the number of calories you burn with vigorous exercise. Brisk walking, jogging, running, aerobic exercise, bike riding, time on an elliptical trainer, etc. is likely to burn about 10 calories per minute. Using the 3500 calorie benchmark, to burn enough calories to lose 1 pound (2.2kg), you’d need to do about 350 minutes of exercise (or about 6 hours). So about an hour a day of vigorous exercise will help you increase your calories expended to lose about a pound a week (assuming you consume fewer or the same number of calories as your BMR).
Several things will help to increase your metabolism along with the vigorous exercise – eating many small meals over the course of a day (6 or so) keeps your digestive track engaged so it’s working harder to work through the food you’re consuming. The more times you eat, the more calories get burned trying to digest the food. Be sure to eat soon after getting up each day so your metabolism gets going.
Adding weight training to your exercise regimen to help build lean muscle tissue will help to increase your metabolism. Muscle maintenance burns more calories per day than the body uses to maintain the other tissues in your body. Drinking about 1 ounce of water per pound of body weight per day will help your body flush the "ashes" of what it’s burning through your increased exercise.
Stick to lean proteins (egg whites, turkey or chicken breast, fish, etc.), whole grains, fruits and vegetables, and avoid most fats. Your body needs some fat in order to metabolize and digest the rest of the food you’re eating. You can get that amount of fat from the chicken or turkey breast and/or fish. Limited amounts of olive oils, very limited amounts of almonds also can provide the little bit of fat that your body needs. Limit alcoholic beverages and other sugars as they have little to no nutritional value and will increase your calorie count significantly.
Attempt to limit calorie intake to about 1200 per day while doing your at least 1 hour of vigorous exercise. Assuming you don’t overconsume on relatively higher calorie foods, you can have virtually unlimited fruits and vegetables – they’re so low in calories and high in bulk, it’s likely you won’t be hungry. Try to avoid processed foods.
Good luck!

— The top question type I have been getting has been about LOVE, and mainly in the sense of asking, “How do I get more love?”
— The 2nd top question type I have been getting has been all things related to CORN, yes corn…go figure! So, to ward off in advance any further “So how do you prepare your corn?” type questions, here is the answer if you haven’t figured it out already: I eat my corn 100% raw and unadulterated…not even slightly steamed!
— Regarding love, we are all an infinite field and we just come out of that…but with conditionings brought upon by us by our environments. At each of our cores, we really are all innocent. Just because many of us have been programmed with ‘negative’ and/or ‘ignorant’ things, through no faults of our own, this does not make our inner, innocent selves out to be bad…
— So we REALLY need to love OURSELVES no matter what! Take some time to sit with yourself, be it via meditation, or spending more time alone…and learn to love yourself…just do it!

Body image and weight loss question?
I, like most other women in America, have trouble loving my body. I feel as though I am too large and I look disgusting. I am 5 ft. 4in. or 5ft. 5in. somewhere in between. I weigh around 165 pounds, but the thing is, everyone tells me that I look as if I weigh somewhere between 120 and 135. People literally don’t believe me when I tell them how much I weigh, so I’m sure that I don’t look as fat as I think I do. But, regardless of how much I weigh vs. how large I look, I want to loose weight and I want to get more toned so I don’t have so much fat on my body. I’m a vegetarian and I though that I would lose weight because of that but I haven’t. I’m 16 years old by the way. So I just want to know any exercises, or a diet plan that will help me lose some weight. I want to lose around 30 to 40 pounds, so please help me out! And seriously, no rude comments on my weight, nobody wants to read things like that…Thanks in advance ![]()
The best thing to do is make sure that you eat healthily and exercise regularly. It is recommended that you exercise for at least 30 minutes 5 times a week. You should do any exercise that makes you feel that you are working (that makes you tired). Running is always a good one! Also, try to avoid any foods that you know are unhealthy, unless you know that you can limit yourself to only a small amount. Also, keep in mind that muscle weighs more than fat!
Good luck. X

Is my weight loss plan ok?
I wanna lose about 25 lbs. I’m 140 lbs and 5’2" and my goal is to be at 110 – 117 by the holidays (so I can gain it all back hahahaha XD)
Here is my usual exercise/activity plan
After school/before dinner I have two options that I do:
Or:
2. 45 minutes of cardio……….i usually do some on my bike and treadmill, mixing it up daily…….i may also start doing intense DDR on some days too. since I can’t increase how long I do it, after two weeks of my normal speed on my, let’s say my bike for an example, (30 – 36m) i’ll increase my speed a little bit.
I’ll do that Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun
And then on Tues, Thurs and Sat:
I’ll do my "concert" routine after school, and after dinner I’ll do 30 minutes of strength training with things like:
Squats (i’ll be doing different types, increasing reps every week)
Walking lunges (50 on each leg, increasing by 15 each week)
Pilates (I’ll be doing different pilate routines for abs)
Push-ups (various types, also increasing reps)
Planks (various moves)
Etc etc
I’m also thinking about adding 30 minutes of cardio after dinner on Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun….
I normally always do the concert routine after school, and 30 mins cardio after dinner though
Does this sound good?
