I am 19 and I am REALLY tired of eating meat.I barely get to eat vegetables and I want to get more fruits and vegetables in my diet, plus i want to lose weight. I use to be a vegaterian when i was a kid, but stopped around 4th grade. I wanted to know what foods are high in protein that a vegetarian can eat? And yes I am not using being a vegetarian as a weight loss diet. I am just making some changes in my eating habits.
My current diet is high in junk foods. I want to eat healthier for myself.
I may even become a long term Vegetarian.
I have recently become a vegetarian and I think its a great decision to get healthier…it eliminates the fatty meats and gives you more room for healthier things….just don’t get carried away with carbohydrates and starches. Nuts, beans, and cottage cheese have loads of protein. Try vegetarian tacos: boil black beans, drain, and mix in 2 teaspoons of chili powder. I have that alot. I turned vegetarian in February and I’ve lost about 30 lbs. Stir Fry’s are also delicious if you take out the meat.

Weight loss and healthy diet plan?
okay so i am 15 years old
im 5 feet 4 inches tall.
i weigh 145 pounds
my hips are 38 inches around
and my upper thighs are 25 inches around.
i would like some healthy meals and/or plan and also a workout schedule and different exercises etc.
I would like to add that im a vegetarian but i also eat seafood.

Im also 15 and i last September i weighed 145 pounds and lost 33 pounds and i now weigh 112.
To loose weight it is very simple. Don’t listen to diets or plans or anything. Just be natural .
Ill give you my best tips :
-eat smaller and healthier portions throughout the day but more frequently (ex- eat 5 meals a day but make your meals half the size) this will speed up your metabolism and
-drink TUNS of water
-walk every day for 30 min, and also do a 30 min workout thats high impact on the body (dance, ect.)
-Pick 1 day on the weekend and 1 day in the week to take a break from your workouts
-Pick 1 day each week to indulge and not worry about your diet (make sure its only one day a week and it will not affect you at all)
-do not pick at food! Put what your gonna eat in your plate and don’t eat anything else! especially when making the food.

Vegan weight loss plan with menu. Vegan as a lifestyle? Your experiences:)?
I am 5’2 and about 145 pounds. My goal weight is around 115-120. I am in my early 20s. I have been vegetarian for years and recently I have been looking into the vegan diet for weight loss and as a lifestyle. I have created a menu plan for myself for this week. Keep in mind, everything on it is vegan and portion sized. Excuse my funny names for things. The chocolate crackers are vegan raw food.
Monday: (6 different meals slashes indicate new meal) Fruit salad/Nuts and some carrots/Quinoa, rest of carrots/Vegan fruit smoothie/Quinoa, salad/ Coconut yogurt with cereal
Tues:Cereal with agave and sugar free soymilk with fruit/Carrots and pineapple/2 veggie dogs with jicama/Trail mix/Veggie Turkey, Quinoa, and salad/fruit
Wed:Smoothie, Veggie patties/Chocolate crackers and nuts/Quinoa with kale chips/veggies/Frozen dinner with salad/Coconut yogurt with cereal
Thurs:Fruit salad with fake patties/Carrots and apple/Veg. chicken w/ ketchup, and Cauliflower/Trail mix/Salad with beans rice and veggie meat/fruit
Fri:Cereal with agave and sugar free soymilk/Trail mix/Boca burger w/ ketchup and fake cheese with jicama/ Fruit with dairy free yogurt/Veggie turkey and veggies/Chocolate crackers
Sat:Fruit salad with fake patties/Vegan smoothie/Salad with veggie meat and fake cheese/Veggie mix/Vegan Indian food/fruit
Sun:Cereal with agave and sugar free soymilk with fruit/Vegan smoothie/Lentil soup and salad/Nuts and veggie or fruit/Leftover vegan Indian food/Coconut yogurt with cereal
Anyway, Thats my diet plan plus 3-4 days of 30 minute cardio and wieght lifting. I am going vegan for a month and evaluating how I feel about it. How does this meal plan look? What are your experiences as a vegan? Thanks!
Looks perfect. I personally would have a really hard time actually following planned out meals like that every day but if you can do it, more power to you! I’m assuming you’ll be using protein powder in your smoothies, I would recommend using pea protein powder opposed to a soy isolate because it looks like you’ll already be consuming a lot of soy each day. Also think about getting a BCAA supplement it will be helpful for your strength training so that you’re getting essential and non-essential amino acids to help promote protein absorption and shorten recovery time. I use Xtend brand it’s vegan and it’s actually really refreshing to drink after a workout. I think you’ll be very happy with your progress over the next month. Good luck

Weight Loss For A 16 Year Old Girl?
Ok, I wanna use the rest of this year to really lose weight and get in shape. I’m gonna be eating fruits, vegetables, whole wheats, low fat dairies and lean protein sources (I’m a vegetarian for my own reasons, not weight loss reasons. I don’t eat fish or eggs, nor do I eat beans, chick peas or lentils cause I don’t like them
) so I eat tofu and Morning star vegetarian food and nuts and 1 tablespoon of peanut butter on my fruit, and I drink at least 3 liters of water and green tea. I’m totally cutting out soda and sugar and I’m going to watch my calories and make sure I eat no less than 1200 a day
For exercise, here’s my plan:
1. This may sound silly, but my sibling and I like to pretend we’re performing on stage like a band or something, and we just sing along to songs, but I do alot of running, jumping and dancing. It;s usually about an hour to an hour and 20 mins we do that, and I don’t jump and stuff the whole time, I gotta catch my breath a little and all…….so it’s probably around 30 – 45 minutes of that…..(it’s fun so I’m more likely to do it and not get too bored or anything) —– I do that about 5 times a week
And I’ll be doing 30 minutes of cardio 5 days a week, too. I plan on doing 10 minutes on my treadmill for two weeks, and then work up to 15, and then after two more weeks I’ll do 20, and so on and so forth until I can do 30 minutes straight on the treadmill. My other 25 minutes of cardio will be on my exercise bike or stair walking. I’d sprint up the stairs and walk back down, sprint up, walk down…… and then I’ll do one day of strength with things like planks, pilates, crunches, lunges, squats, etc etc.
I’ll do different types and add some more reps after a while.
I wanna lose 30 pounds and gain some muscle tone and get in pretty good shape by the end of this year. This is a lifestyle change, not just a diet plan either.
I also will be giving myself a light cheat meal once a week. Probably a skinny cow ice cream or something like that.

Congratulations, this is the most sensible weight loss plan I’ve heard in a long time. When reading labels, try to avoid high fructose corn syrup. keep your loss to 2 lbs a week. And good luck.

Is my plan enough for weight loss or no?
I’m 5’2" and 140 pounds. I wanna be around 110 – 117.
So here is my plan
For exercise, I’ll be doing two different activities:
1. This may sound silly, but my sibling and I like to pretend we’re performing on stage like a band or something, and we just sing along to songs, but I do alot of running, jumping and dancing. It;s usually about an hour to an hour and 20 mins we do that, and I don’t jump and stuff the whole time, I gotta catch my breath a little and all…….so it’s probably around 30 – 45 minutes of that…..(it’s fun so I’m more likely to do it and not get too bored or anything)
And then after dinner I’ll do my Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred DVD. I’ll do it as the DVD says (10 days level 1, 10 days level 2, etc etc) And in the evening when I don’t have much to do, I MAY dance a little, but I’m not counting that as a main part of my workout plan.
And an example of what I plan on eating:
Breakfast:
My breakfast will be either:
1. Frozen raspberries or some fruit or of some sort with two strips of vegetarian bacon wrapped around a little bit of lettuce with some mixed vegetables in the lettuce (sounds weird, but it’s good) and a glass of skim milk and some green tea
2. Fruit and a whole wheat bagel with a serving of peanut butter, and skim milk and green tea
Snack 1: Fruit or carrots
Lunch, also a few different things I eat:
1. A vegetable burger on a whole wheat bagel with lettuce and mustard and either a piece of fruit (probably an apple) or some vegetables with it
2. Vegetarian fajitas made with tofu, carrots, onion and bellpepper, whole wheat tortilla shells and low fat monzarella cheese
3. A vegetable stir-fry made with tofu, potatoes, and other sorts of vegetables and maybe some fruit with it
Snack 2: Vegetables, probably carrot
Dinner: Either a large salad with cooked tofu or a fruit salad
Snack 3: If I need one, it will be fruit
And on my weekly cheat day I will eat a Skinny Cow brand of diet ice cream, 120 calories per serving (it’s an ice cream bar so I don’t serve it myself)
Calorie count for some of these foods:
Vegetarian morning star brand of bacon – 60 calories per serving (one serving is two slices
Veggie Burgers, also morning star – 110 calories
Wheat Bagels – 110 calories
Wheat Tortillas – 120 calories
And my green tea doesn’t have any sugar in it.
I’m a vegetarian, and I don’t eat fish or eggs, or chick peas, or lentils or beans.
I’ll be drinking 3 liters of water a day, and eating about 1300 calories.
Does this sound good or should I add more exercise or something?
